Simple Representation of Rebound Method

The Surface roughness measurement today works according to the principle of Leeb rebound. The principle is very simple and straight forward, easy to understand and the hardness is measured by simple equation. First of all there is a test sample whose hardness is to be tested. Then is the tester which has in it the impact body whose loss of energy will ultimately measure the hardness of the sample. The ratio of two velocities named the rebound & impact velocity is measured. Their ratio gives us the HL value, the measure of hardness. This value is converted to other units also for conveniently understanding the hardness.
