As an English high school teacher, I highly recommend my students to use free dictionary download to help them with their studies and schoolwork. The reasons for my recommendations are as follows. (1) Most complete hard copy dictionaries are heavy and can’t be easily put in a school bag. (2) Online dictionaries are easy to access, especially these days where schools even have free WI-FI connections. (3) Online dictionary download can give your different varieties of dictionary. (4) Hard copy or online, dictionaries will help students develop their vocabulary, learn to pronounce words properly and master different language rules and syntax.
