Glossary of Watch Terms and Words
Philip Stein is just one of many Swiss watch makers, who describe their timepieces in complex terminology. Below are a few of the most used watch terms:
• Bezel; the watch bezel is the ring, which surrounds the face. The bezel’s function is to protect the watch and hold the crystal in place.
• Bidirectional Rotating Bezel; this refers to a bezel, which can be used for timing or calculating elapsed time or speed. It can move in either a clockwise or counter clockwise rotating motion.
• Bracelet; the bracelet is the strap, which holds the watch to your wrist.
