Software is key to new Cherry Packing Technology
The fruit packing industry has changed quite a bit in the past few years. With advancements in technology, packing facilities are able to work more efficiently and do less damage to the fruit in the process of packaging it up. In the case of the cherry packing, the new machines have shown a dramatic increase in efficiency and production. Instead of using manual packing or using a mechanical packing machine, the new technology takes advantage of three dimensional sorting. By using a series of cameras, and state of the art software, the new packing machines are able to sort and package the cherries much more effectively. More fruit makes it into the packages which also saves money in the long run.
